Our 2018 highlights
31 Dec 2018
With 2019 just around the corner, we’re looking back at our highlights from 2018.
Launching Simply Connect
2018, was an exciting year for us! VC Connect became Simply Connect Solutions, ten years after Sirinda set up our original software business. Whilst the sector and our services have evolved and changed over the years, our values remain the same – as a team we are committed to supporting and promoting the work of the voluntary and community sector and help them deliver on local authority and NHS contracts through our innovative digital platforms and consultancy services.
250,000 Simply Connect users UK wide
Simply Connect now boasts over 250,000 people using our platforms UK wide. This could be people looking for volunteering roles; wanting to access social prescribing services or get involved at local community events. Our Simply Connect digital platform supports a range of services such as volunteering, social prescribing, events management and more.
Growing our Simply Connect Community
In 2018 we were delighted to welcome new customers to our network of community partners to further expand our coverage across the UK. We welcomed new social prescribing projects including Involve Kent, Social Enterprise Kent, Medway Council for Voluntary service, who are all developing their social prescribing projects, choosing Simply Connect as their digital partner.
We now also work with a third of Volunteer Centres in England and were pleased to welcome Kent Coast Volunteering last year. In the north, we were pleased to support the creation of a new CVS in Bury CVS and provide the digital platforms to support their work.
A new way of working for Simply Connect
Since becoming Simply Connect, we are working much more collaboratively with our partners and commissioners to develop our digital platforms and services, in response to local needs.
Over the past six months the team have travelled the country to meet with commissioners, stakeholders and partner organisations to share our expertise and knowledge in supporting successful social prescribing projects around the country.
We look forward to strengthening these partnerships as we look forward to exciting times in 2019!
